Assistant Research Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Project Manager) in the Centre for Civil Society and Governance (Ref.: 527025)

Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in Agricultural Sciences, Biological Science or related discipline. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and excellent project management skills. They should be able to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Preference will be given to those with at least 5 years of work and/or research experience in the areas of Sustainable Production and Consumption, Food Policy and Food System Assessment, Smart and Appropriate Technology for Agriculture and Community Economy. Experience in impact investment, food-related industry and cross-sectoral projects would be an advantage.

The appointee will be responsible for planning, managing, promoting, and delivering rural revitalization and sustainable agriculture/aquaculture programmes and be involved in developing new project themed Sustainable Food Value Chains under the Centre; and other duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre. Teaching duties on the above-mentioned topics may also be assigned.

The appointment will commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
