Job Description:

UM6P is seeking a highly qualified Research Director to lead our R&D initiatives to join our team in Canada. The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. and a robust research background, demonstrating leadership and a strategic vision for advancing research excellence. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of driving research agendas, securing funding, and fostering partnerships with academic and industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Elaborate, implement and execute policies for research activities.
• Develop and implement the strategic research agenda for UM6P Canada, aligning with the institution's overall goals.
• Lead and oversee research projects, ensuring high standards of scientific rigor and innovation.
• Foster a collaborative research environment, encouraging interdisciplinary research and partnerships.
• Secure external research funding through grants, contracts, and partnerships.
• Represent UM6P Canada in national and international research forums, conferences, and collaborations.

Criteria of the candidate:

• A Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, chemistry, energy or related disciplines).
• 13 to 15 years experience in leading and managing research projects, with a strong track record of research excellence and publications.
• Proven records of securing funds for projects.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a senior research leadership role within an academic or research institution.
• Established network of contacts within the research community, both nationally and internationally.
• Experience in strategic planning and implementation of research agendas.
