Job Description:

UM6P is seeking highly qualified Innovation and Technology Transfer Manager to lead and manage our technology transfer activities to join our team in Canada. The successful candidates will possess a Ph.D. and have a strong background in innovation management and technology commercialization. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to foster partnerships between academia and industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies for technology transfer and commercialization of research outcomes.
• Identify and evaluate innovative research with commercial potential within UM6P Canada.
• Foster and manage relationships with industry partners, investors, and other stakeholders to promote technology transfer.
• Provide guidance and support to researchers and faculty in the development of intellectual property (IP) and patenting processes.
• Monitor and manage the portfolio of IP assets, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
• Organize and participate in workshops, seminars, and networking events to promote innovation and technology transfer.
• Prepare and present reports on technology transfer activities and achievements to senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with trends and best practices in innovation management and technology transfer.

Criteria of the candidate:

• A Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Chemistry, Energy or related disciplines).
• Extensive experience in innovation management, technology transfer, and commercialization.
• Strong knowledge of intellectual property management and patenting processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate the commercial potential of research outcomes.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a leadership role within an academic or research institution.
• Established network of contacts within the innovation and technology transfer community, both nationally and internationally.
• Familiarity with technology transfer policies and regulations.
• Experience in strategic planning and implementation of innovation and technology transfer initiatives.
