Established in 1991, Queen's School of Nursing & Midwifery provides a range of innovative programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, which prepare nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals for leadership roles in clinical care, teaching, management and research.

Both the AC2 and AC3 Lecturer will undertake research in line with the School's research strategy, which is specific to midwifery and maternity care. The successful candidate will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, will develop or maintain a portfolio of appropriate scholarly activity and contribute to the School's academic development and quality assurance processes.

The AC3 Lecturer will develop innovations in teaching, learning and quality assurance processes and contribute to School administration and outreach activity.

The salary scales for the posts are as follows:

AC2: £43,605 - £47,631 per annum

AC3: £49,054 - £60,284 per annum

About the person:

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Have or about to obtain a Doctoral degree in Midwifery, Nursing or a related Healthcare subject. Applicants must obtain their PhD within 3 months of commencement of the role.
  • Research experience and profile which complements the research priorities related to inequalities in healthcare, midwifery and/or maternity care:
    • A minimum of 3 years research experience in a relevant healthcare field.
    • A publication record (or be about to publish) in peer reviewed journals /conference papers.
    • Experience of developing research methodologies, models, approaches and techniques (AC3 only).
    • Experience of presentations at national and international meetings and conferences (AC3 only).
  • Relevant teaching experience at University level commensurate with stage of career.
