Job Details
Applications are invited for a temporary, Fixed term, 3 years post of a Teaching Fellow in Music Theory and Performance within UCD School of Music.
The UCD School of Music wishes to make a temporary appointment for a Teaching Fellow in Music Theory and Performance. The successful candidate will teach core modules in western music theory and will take on responsibility for convening final-year student recitals. More broadly, they will contribute to the development of teaching in music theory and performance in the School, and will contribute to administration in the School and University.
We are open to candidates with teaching specialisms in any area of music theory and performance, but it is vital that the successful candidate is able to teach across a range of levels, ranging from introductory first-year courses to advanced classes in theory and analysis. The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of core topics including music literacy, tonal harmony (including keyboard harmony), counterpoint, formal analysis, some post[1]tonal theory (including serialism, chance, and text and graphic notation), improvisation, and some music technology, though we do not expect candidates to be equally expert across all of these areas. We particularly welcome candidates with innovative ideas for the development and diversification of teaching and learning in music theory.
Fixed Salary: €42,988 per annum
