The University of Surrey, in collaboration with JT Financial Management Ltdan FCA-regulated investment consultancy business, are seeking a passionate Business Intelligence Developer - Financeto spearhead a groundbreaking Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Project.

JT Financial Management (JTFM) help individuals, trustees, family offices and charities make informed decisions about the management of their investments. There can be significant challenges and responsibilities when it comes to the management of wealth. JTFM provides expertise, support, and guidance to those navigating these challenges.

This KTP focuses of developing an innovative AI-powered FinTech toolkit that automates chart generation, enabling rapid client presentation, and reducing manual effort. It will transform the business into an investment consultancy business that is data-driven, which will propel growth and financial inclusion.

This position is based at JTFM in Guildford, Surrey, and supported by a team of experts from the University of Surrey, including Professor Bonnie Buchanan (School of Business and Hospitality & Tourism Management), and Dr Ehsan Toreini (School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering).

We are looking for an initiative-taking and purposeful individual with:

  • A postgraduate degree in Investment Management, Fintech & Policy, Business/Data Analytics, Finance, Computer/Data Science, or related field with a strong quantitative foundation. 

Experience in:

  • Data Analysis and AI tools and programming: Proficiency in one or more of Python, R, Rust, SQL with the ability to learn others quickly.
  • Data Visualisation: Creating impactful visualisations and graphical user interfaces using innovative AI techniques. 
  • Project management/Business Acumen: Manage a strategic project, mapping business and information processes, presenting insights in clear reports, and translating technical jargon for non-technical audiences. 

This role is ideal for a person who thrives in a collaborative environment and is energised by learning new technologies. A passion for driving innovation through data-driven solutions is a must! A genuine interest in financial services and technology is a plus.
