Mō te tūka | The role

Take your academic career to the next level, working in the School of Landscape Architecture (SoLA).  The school has been a pioneer in landscape architectural education for more than 50 years and is known worldwide for its teaching and research excellence.

The position exists to further the pursuit and acquisition of knowledge and understanding of Landscape Architecture by:

• Initiating, developing and conducting high quality research, collaborating with others inside and outside the university.
• Advancing and enhancing the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Contributing to the supervision of postgraduate students' research.
• Contributing to the wider functioning of the University.
• Add to extension and other professional activities related to the discipline.

This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln campus. 

The salary range for this role is fixed at Grade A6, NZ$87,340 - NZ$94,503 per annum.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A completed PhD in Landscape Architecture or related relevant field.
• Membership of an appropriate professional organisation ideally holding registered status
• A research agenda and a developing record of scholarly research and publication and/or creative work
• Evidence of some successful teaching in a relevant field at tertiary level
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds
• A research and teaching focus in the field of Māori / indigenous design or computer-based landscape visualisation would be desirable
